Wow it sounds like you guys had a lot of fun at the fair. did the boys earn a lot of money? make sure Kaden doesn't spend it all in one place.

Well this week we found one house that is perfect and its in a really great area, and then the zone leaders came and said it was too expensive, but we cant find anything else and Hna Mendoza said she wants us in a new house next month, which is in a week and a half, so we are going to talk directly with her and she what she says. We havn't had any problems with anything in this area, and I'm not worried. All of the gangsters think I am really cool. Its kinda funny. I am having a lot of fun here in this area. But we have the problem of people just cant think here, they cant put 2 and 2 together. We teach a little bit and then ask a question to verify and they just don't understand. I am a lot more grateful for the education that I have. Its been hard to find people to teach but in time the success will come. Also we are having a lot of problems with the ward. Nobody wants to do anything and we are losing people really fast. We talked with the ward mission leader last night and came up with this big plan for people to visit people. He has a lot of energy and he says he going to enforce this plan like crazy, and he will. So hopefully we will change the attitudes of the people.

So Kevin and Marisol are at the house? If yes here is a quick message for marisol.

SO this week I had my first crazy experience. We went for one of our investigators and there was a couple gangsters in front of his house, and then one started asking us questions about the bible, like who's Aaron, why was Moses so important. He knew a lot. and then he asked us if he were to kill somebody in self defensive who God forgive him (he was pretty drunk) and he told him he would, if he repented, and well he didn't really believe us, and then he told us he had killed somebody, and he feels horrible about it, and he wants to change is life, but he is scared because of the other gangs, and then he started crying (he is like 260 lbs with lots of tattoos) and he told us he didn't want to kill anybody again. And we told him to read the book of Mormon and it would help him change his life. and then he asked us if we were going to come back next week and we said we would. and he told us if we didn't he was going to beat us up. It was pretty crazy, but its part of being in Mexico I guess.
Well have fun, I love you all, hopefully we can find another house this week.

Dear Family,

Nope I didn't get transferred I am still in good ole Azteca, but thank heavens I got a new companion. The last transfer was really bad, but I got a new companion and I have a lot of hope for this transfer. But its kinda of hard to have a lot of hope because my last 3 companions have started out really good and then ended up really bad, but I am going to just keep doing my part and hoping for the best. I definitely am learning a lot here. And really I have been able to find a really important lesson from each of my companions. Last Tuesday I had a really good talk with my district leader( he is from California) we talked about the mission and why we are here and what we need to do here. It was really a great talk, and it was all because my companion was having so many problems.

Last week we were at the church talking with one of the brothers, and this teenage girl came up and starting talking to us and then she told about how she was interested in the church and she wanted to know more, and how her boy friend is serving a mission right now, but her parents don't really like the church. And the brother shared his feelings and it was really good. And then a couple days later we went to talk with her parents and her dad didn't want to listen and her mom was really hesitant, and then the lesson didn't really go that well, because my companion had been really mad at me the whole day. But I think my new companion(Elder Costilla) and I can make a difference and I really hope we can baptize her and her family.

Tomorrow we one of the presidents of the seventy and another member of the seventy are coming to talk to us, and its only for the missionaries in the city, i am really excited! It should be really good and a really good opportunity to learn.
Here in the mission right now we are starting to search for a new house to live in, because Hermana Mendoza doesn't want us living in Fomerrey 11 anymore. And Elder Costilla and I are going to start focusing on the other part of our mission that is a nicer area. it should be good, and I am excited to see what results we get from it. I think we are going to set a goal for baptisms this transfer and really try and achieve it.

Wow you are doing a lot there at the house. I would say one of the best way to learn Spanish is watch movies in Spanish with English subtitles that way you can hear it and then try and pick up words and write them down. that would be really cool if you could speak in some Spanish when i get home because I am not going to be able to speak English, its awkward right now to speak English and I just end up speak Spanish.lol.
I hope all is well and that you guys are doing good, write me back right now if you can. bye
Love

Wow you guys are doing a lot there. It sounds really exciting! Good luck with everything and I hope it all works out well.

This week was better. we have a couple of people that are finally starting to progress, and its the last week of the transfer. this area has been difficult and my companion too. but its been a really fun transfer. I have seen a lot of new things and my Spanish has increased a lot. I am now doing a lot of the teaching, sometimes I don't understand but i get whats going on almost all the time and am talking a lot.

It's crazy i complete 6 months in the mission tomorrow! I cant believe it, its going by really fast, this transfer went by really quickly, its almost been hard, I feel like we haven't worked because it went by so fast. I am feeling pretty good now, I think everything has finally cleared up.

We started teaching 2 people this week that i think will be really good. the one lady just wants to ask questions but she really like the church a lot. and the other is a man and he is really accepting. And also one of our investigators moved back to her house, so we are hopefully going to baptize her here pretty quickly. We have had a really hard time finding people at there houses here, because everybody works a lot here in the city, or they say that they need to leave. But we are finally seeing some of the fruits from our labors.

We have special conference tonight and I am really looking forward to it, its always really fun, and there lots of missionaries, so i get to see a lot of people. There one missionary in my zone that is from Federal Way and he attended college at Western for a year, so I have been talking with him a lot, hes pretty cool.
I think that is it for now, if there is anything more I will write another email. thanks love you guys a lot.

has ta luego!

Well I am continuing to feel better everyday, I am close to perfect, but it took a big tole on me to say the least.
This week was another tough one, but we are starting to see some investigators pop up out of the contacts. But the bad news is we have the goal for 6 baptisms this month and three of the six moved to other places, and so now we are down to 3, but we should be able to find more. We have 3 others that are possibilities. This week was also a little crazy. We saw a fight on Friday, and then last night there was 2. The one was early in the evening and the other was in the night. The one in the night was 2 different gangs throwing beer bottles and cement chunks at each other. And for the first time here we saw the police, I really was quite surprised, but they showed up after it had calmed down quite a bit. Hna Mendoza told us we need to search for a new house, because this area is kinda of dangerous. But we are not really finding any other houses, so I don't know what will happen.

If you could send me some stamps for the U.S. that way I can send letters that would be great. I can give my letters to the zone leaders and then they can get mailed through Texas. but I don't have any stamps and if you want to send me some other stuff that"s good or fun that would be cool too. thanks.

wow it sounds like there is a lot going on there. Jensen is playing football? How's that going for him? Do you like it Jensen? It sounds like you have lots of vegetables. We have a farmers market here in our area just around the corner from our house every Saturday, Sunday and Monday, its really quite impressive, it has all sorts of different things and lots of food. People play bingo to get different household items or food, there is 4 or 5 different places you can play. Its funny. Its been really hot here the last couple days, but on Friday it was really nice, we had some huge thunderstorms and then rain, and it cooled off a little bit but now its hot again. I am doing pretty good here in Mexico. I love you all. Bye.

How was the drive back? was it really hot? Its so much cooler here in Monterrey than in the frontier. Miguel Aleman it was high 40, here its only the low 40. Today is pretty warm, but still a lot less than Miguel Aleman, one correction, I am in San Nicolas, and the colonia is Fomerrey. I am right in between San Nicolas, and Monterrey the city. Its really cool here.

Today we went out to eat at this buffet in the middle of nowhere west of Monterrey, it was legite home cooked Mexican food. It wasn't my favorite but it was pretty good. and then we went to downtown Monterrey, where the huge market is with the family, because he needed to buy stuff for his hamburger stand. It was really cool and really huge. Its like pikes place market, but 6 or 7 times bigger, and that's the place for food. there is another market for clothes and more craft kinds of things. I will send some pictures.
My companion right now is pretty cool. We get along really well. I have a lot more confidence in my Spanish here. And really the people are a lot nicer. On Sunday I gave a talk about Alma chapter 5, I think it went pretty well. But i think it was a little to complicated for my language ability, so I didn't get it across like I wanted to. The stake I am in is Moderna, and then the stake next to me is Apodaca.
Our area is absolutely huge, but we really only work in a small part of it, and most of the members life here by the house. All the different colonials are very different, We have some really nice areas, and some areas that are not so nice, and some areas that are somewhat bad. When we where walking home Sunday evening, a whole bunch of different drunk people kept trying to ask us questions and it got really annoying. One of the guys had talked with the missionaries before and was really nice, but one of the other guys there at the house kept saying how god didn't exist, but he believed in the bible and Jesus Christ. and then he would say there is a god, but he didn't exists. It was pretty funny, and all of his friends where making fun of him.
We had a baptism on Saturday. It was really extremely good. Most of there family are members, and they live up in Texas, they all came down from there. It was really entertaining. After the baptism everybody went to Pollo Loco, and ate lunch. all of the spoke English, so i had a really good time talking with them. There are Mexican, but none of them really like Mexico. The one guy was making fun of the waiter, and what he should call him. We were suppose to have a baptism this Sunday but the father of the daughter got really sick, so we are doing the baptism this Sunday. We have another couple that want to get baptised and they have everything, including the interview, so we just need to give them another date. The first baptismal date got ruined, because she had here baby.
Happy birthday to dad and Kaden. I am pretty surprised that I actually remembered. But I thought of you guys.
This week my companion completes one year in the mission. On Thursday, so we are going to go for hamburgers and have a little fiesta, I am really excited. I completed five months on Sunday. Its really going by fast, its kinda sad. But it is more of a reason to enjoy it. I hope all is well. I am doing really good here in Mexico! I love you all and have a good time.

Well I got a new area today. Now I am in Monterrey in Apodaca. Its really different here. Our area is absolutely huge and we are walking the whole time. So i am going to be really tired here for a while. Its a lot cooler here which is nice because it was getting really hot out in the frontier and it was getting really annoying. Right now its raining off and on and we have some gnarly thunderstorms. It feels really good its a nice change from the heat of Miguel Aleman. My area is a lot cleaner but its kind of a ghetto. It's not to bad, buts there is a lot of people here. Most of Apodaca has a lot of money so I'm pretty sureIi got one of the few areas that doesn't have a lot of money. But I have heard really good things about our area and we have a really good ward. We have 4 baptisms this Saturday which will be really exciting. Really I am just happy its not as hot. I saw a lot of people from my generation today because we had the transfers. Elder Boucher was telling me about how everybody is talking about how its gonna get really really hot next month, like 40 or 45. Well its been 45 in Miguel Aleman for the last month so, I had to laugh at that.
My new companion is Elder Del Toro. He is kinda of quiet but he seems a lot more laid back then Elder Moro was. So I think he will be a little easier to work with. But I was telling Pres. Mendoza today how I was really grateful for the opportunity to work with him because I learned a lot of patience and obedience. I have a lot of photos but I don't have any batteries that have energy so I cant send pics. I might try. So I think next week I will send a bunch of pictures again. I have to admit i was sad to leave Miguel Aleman. It was a really fun town and it was nice and small. Monterrey just keeps going and going and going and it seems like its never going to end.lol.
It sounds like you guys are having a lot of fun in Idaho. How much longer are you staying there?

I was kinda bummed I missed the fireworks this year. I was thinking that I would be able to see them in Texas, but then one of the hermanos told me ¨ No they are all Mexican they don't care about celebrating the 4th of July¨ so that was pretty funny. And then on Sunday we went and visited Hermano Torres and we had the best horchatta ever!!!!!!!!!! It was from El Salvador and wow, it was really good to say the least. We had some really good food Thursday, Saturday and Sunday last week. And my companion was telling me we get some really good food here in the area. We are going for Hamberguesas tonight at the house of one of our members. So I look forward to this area. I am a little bit nervous being in the city like this but I will get use to it. I think that is everything. Drive home safely. I love you all and hope all is well.
